3.5 Ways to Keep Your Horse Sound

Protect your horse's front legs. There is very little natural protection for the delicate areas of your horse's front legs. Many professionals use front leg protection for their equine when showing at high levels of competition. However, leg protection is vital when you are starting young horses as well. Think about it. If you hurt something the very first time you try it, whomever talked you into it is going to have a pretty hard time getting you to do it again. It's the same with horses.

Protect your horse's back legs. The fetlock area of the hind leg can be easily burned when horses are asked to stop during calf roping, reining, cutting, working cow horse or any other performance horse type of event. However, the fetlock area is not the only exposed area on the hind leg of your equine.

The hind splint can experience trauma in the same manner as the front splint. Some horses have more of a tendency to hit themselves in this manner than others. It's the same in any case, know your horse and provide the level of protection it deserves.

Take advantage of the Ed Galemba difference. Pride of workmanship and the finest quality materials available go into all our products. These western style splint/skid boots are hand made and designed to protect the splint bones, check ligaments, deep flexor tendons, upper suspensory ligament and fetlock area from injuries.
